Millie enjoys life in Upland, California with her husband, Neal. She was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, but lived with her husband and four children in Little Rock, Arkansas for several years.

The “Little Rock years” were spent in reaching beyond family borders and into social issues. After graduating with a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she continued her education with a Master’s Degree in Professional Writing. She was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
She worked with Reverend Hezekiah Stewart at Watershed, Inc. a non-profit family crisis center as Program Manager for three years. There she learned how well families in need responded tonew information and ideas.

She went on to hospice work with Hospice Home Care, Inc. in a staff position as Volunteer Coordinator. She managed 50 to 75 volunteers and kept government-required records in her self-organized office. She was part of a team that incorporated a children’s hospice program, called Kaleidoscope Kids®. She received the J.C. Penney Volunteer of the Year award for her work.
